Indie Comics, Zendikar Rising, and Online Store

Hi everyone!

We’ve been busy in the past week here at More Fun Comics and Games and have some exciting news to share today!
If you look in the upper right hand corner of the page you’re looking at right now, you’ll see a spiffy Shop Online button. If you’re on mobile, tap on the hamburger menu button on the left and you’ll see Shop Online pop up there. Mouse over, or tap on, Shop Online, and you’ll see three links. One for More Fun Comics and Games, one for More Fun Game Center and one for More Fun Toys!

That’s right, we have three separate online storefronts for each of our stores, including More Fun Toys!, which isn’t even open yet, but you can browse our inventory and order for delivery or pickup now starting immediately!

Back in early April as things were shut down, we launched the first version of the More Fun Comics and Games online store quite hastily. It was…less than perfect. However, we learned a lot in the process that has helped us refine and plan accordingly. While we’re still working on a lot of details and adding inventory daily, we’re excited to roll out the new systems!

Here’s the fun part, More Fun Toys! uses an all new point of sale that lists our entire inventory online updated in real time! If you see it on the online store, it is in stock and ready to go! The other two stores use an older point of sale that requires us to update manually, so while everything you see is in stock, not every thing we have in stock may be listed, always feel free to check with us if you’re looking for something you don’t see.

However, it isn’t all work here, we make time to relax and enjoy what we sell, too!
One remarkable thing in comics right now is the resurgence in independent publishers. While Marvel and DC are still putting out good books, the consistency has clearly not been there recently. And that’s not to mention the logistical shenanigans behind the scenes, which I’ll save for a later post.

Boom! had our top selling book last year, and they have been putting out great series this year that are really finding an audience. Have you checked out We Only Find Them When They’re Dead yet? Written by Immortal Hulk scribe Al Ewing, this all new series is set in a future where gods have been discovered in the galaxy, but as the title implies, they’re only discovered when they’re dead, and an entire industry has developed around “mining” these moon-sized corpses.

The first issue is a fantastic introduction to a new science fiction world with beautiful art by Simone Di Meo, and I recommend it highly. Of course, there’s lots of great new series hitting from Image, Dark Horse, Ahoy, and other publishers, too. If you haven’t looked past Batman, do yourself a favor and do so!

Finally, if you’re into Magic, one thing you’ll notice at the More Fun Comics and Games store is that we have Zendikar Rising preorders up and running! You can lock in your prerelease packs, draft boosters, and bundles now! Plus, if you order six prerelease packs, you’ll get the Buy a Box promo card, plus six More Fun Comics and Games bonus packs with lots more promos and freebies!

See you next time!
